Christy G. and her 4 year old Border Collie Bo earned 1st place and High in Trial in the C course Advanced Sheep at the Tri-County Australian Shepherd Working Association's Stockdog trial held at Cal-Poly in Pomona on Jan. 16, 2010. The judge was Rick Hardin from Colorado. Also that same day Lasoya L. and her almost two year old Blazin' Beau earned 1st place and High in Trial on C course Started Cows. This was his first time competing on cows which also lead to High Combined score including a second place on Advanced Sheep and 1st in Open Geese.
The C course is interesting as the dog has to take the stock from a pen up the middle of the arena then complete an S shape pattern through two gates and in the advanced level aim and go through a Y shaped chute. All the while the stock is wanting to run back down a slop to their exhaust pens. Lots of fun and keen concentration for both handler and dogs.
